A ‘taste of Spain’ at Honolulu Academy of Arts, July 30

The popular ARTafterDARK series of pau hana events at the Honolulu Academy of Arts will focus on Spanish art, food, music and fun on Friday, July 30.

Price is $10 … or free for Academy members
Time … 6 – 9 pm

The Iberian experience starts with Charito Rivera, Andrell McCray and Tui Petelo performing flamenco, the bolero, paso doble and other dances. Meanwhile, DJ Kevin Tsuji transforms the Luce Pavilion Courtyard into an Ibiza nightclub with a trance set, and chanteuse Aña Monique will belt out Latin tunes.
Twn restaurant will set up a tapas bar serving small plates of Spanish classics and Downtown will pour sangria.

Guests can take part in a gallery hunt that focuses on the world of Picasso and all ground-floor galleries will be open to the public. People who turn in their hunt sheets have a chance to win ARTafterDARK passes and food-and-drink tokens. New exhibitions are As It Happened: Works by Sanit Khewhok and Interior Landscapes: The Art of the Chinese Snuff Bottle.

Nobu Waikiki announces new (under $10) happy hour cocktails and tapas menu

Nobu Waikiki, located at the Waikiki Parc Hotel and celebrated for its Peruvian-inspired delicacies is pleased to announce a new happy hour cocktail and tapas menu available in its bar and lounge. The new happy hour features Nobu signature dishes, tapas-style, each for $10 or less. Drinks specials are available Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and Nobu-style tapas are available anytime during restaurant business hours. The new menu features the following:

Dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday through Saturday. The Lounge at Nobu is open from 5:00 p.m. – midnight nightly. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at RumFire

Located in the Sheraton Waikiki hotel, RumFire will be raging on St. Patrick’s Day with special drinks and tapas.

Happy hour takes place from 4 – 6 p.m. with two specialty drinks created to celebrate
St. Paddy’s Day. Regular selection of cocktails, beers, wines, bombs and shots are also available.
